Livestock agri-PV — Vertical Solar Fence for pasture and paddocks
The livestock use case is the cleanest fit for the Vertical Solar Fence. The fence already needs to be there — for boundary management, predator control and animal containment. Replacing the conventional fence converts that capital line from cost-only to power-generating.
The vertical 90° geometry keeps the panels out of livestock head-height range, avoids snow accumulation, and produces during morning and evening peaks. The pasture inside the fence stays fully usable — grazing area is not reduced.
What this geometry solves
- Land — the pasture inside the fence remains fully arable / grazeable; no land is converted to PV
- Capital — fence spend that would go to conventional posts and mesh now produces revenue
- Safety — panels sit above head-height; no risk from livestock contact
- Generation — east-west vertical produces at morning and evening peaks, not midday only
