Agrivoltaics

Dual-use PV structures for crops, livestock and mixed land

Most agri-PV suppliers offer one structure and adapt the marketing. Truaxis offers three — the differentiator is structural choice, not retrofit.

02 — Agri-Tracker

Agri-Tracker — single-axis tracker for tall-crop agrivoltaics

The Agri-Tracker is the agrivoltaic configuration of the Truaxis Standard SAT. The mechanical specification is the Standard SAT base: ±55° rotation, brushless DC backtracking, 1P module orientation, 14–84 modules per row, 40 m/s wind survival, five foundation options.

03 — Livestock agri-PV

Livestock agri-PV — Vertical Solar Fence for pasture and paddocks

The livestock use case is the cleanest fit for the Vertical Solar Fence. The fence already needs to be there — for boundary management, predator control and animal containment. Replacing the conventional fence converts that capital line from cost-only to power-generating.

04 — Crop suitability

Geometry is chosen before the module

Most failed agri-PV projects share a pattern: modules specified before the structural geometry was matched to the crop. The framework below is the same one Truaxis’s engineering team uses on site visits.

Crop suitability →

  • Clearance under panels for harvest equipment; backtracking calibration balances light availability for the crop
  • Vertical clearance for canopy height; row pitch matched to planting rows
  • In perimeter use the land stays fully arable; the boundary doubles as livestock containment
  • Crop-specific agronomic modelling for light, water balance and microclimate

This is a framework, not a substitute for site-specific agronomic and structural review. Truaxis engineering and the relevant agronomic partner co-specify the geometry for every dual-use site.

05 — Steel & manufacturing

The corrosion warranty doesn’t change when the use case does

All three agri-PV geometries are produced with the same steel and corrosion stack; bankability documentation is shared.

  • Magnelis® ZM310 + TS EN ISO 1461 hot-dip galvanising (in-house)
  • EN 1090 production scope · KRC-DOP-01 declaration of performance
  • CBAM-support documentation across all three geometries
